My Bio

As well as holding a state license as a childcare provider, I am an experienced and certified (Illinois teaching certificate, Type 04, infants through third grade) teacher. I taught in the classoom at the preschool, kindergarten and first grade levels. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education through the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and graduate work in special education through the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. I am the grateful mother of two fine young people, a daughter who is a teacher for District 54 and a son who is scheduled to earn his PhD in chemistry in the summer of 2014. I lead a local family childcare association, am an active member of the national association (NAFCC). I am a member of the citizens advisory board for the Early Childhood Department at Harper College where I have occasionally taught classes. I am also on the board of Big Barn Preschool in Schaumburg. I spend many hours each year in continuing education. I am also at the otherside of the equation a few times a year as well. I present workshops at area conferences and association meetings.
